As one of the "Top 10 opera houses around the world" (USA Today) and "the most alluring opera house" (Daily Telegraph), Guangzhou Opera House is a splendid cultural landmark boldly exploring a new mode of operation and management and the path of reform and development in Chinese theater.

Located in the center of Guangzhou CBD, Guangzhou Opera House was designed by Zaha Hadid, the first female architect to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize. The buildings are like two stones washed by the Pearl River; strange but full of inspiration. The world-renowned acoustician Harold Marshall designed its acoustic system, which has won praise from global architects and artists.

The opera house annually stages famous operas including Turandot, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, The Lady of the Camellias and Carmen with renowned opera house and production teams. These cultural undertakings have changed the cultural ecology of Guangzhou and won the city the world's attention.
